Name: Ashlyn Hauk
Major: Finance with additional emphasis in Real Estate
Hometown: Edwardsville, Illinois
What are your career and life goals?
I’m hoping to go into real estate post graduation. I’m not sure what my exact interest is right now, but at some point I hope to solely be in that field! I want my career to be something I enjoy day to day that doesn’t feel like “work.”
What is your favorite part about your major and why did you choose it?
My favorite part about my major is that the business school is so connected and I feel like I always have a friend in class. I have always had an interest in real estate and when I found out the finance program here offered that, I knew it was something I wanted to do!
You founded the Mizzou Wellness Society and are currently serving as the president! Why were you inspired to start this organization, and what are your goals for your term?
I was inspired by one of my close friends at another school who is on Exec and I wished we had something like it on our campus. She encouraged me to apply and start one, so here we are! Our organization’s mission is to redefine the college experience by establishing a culture that celebrates self-care, resilience, and holistic health. We value balance and the pursuit of overall health - both mental and physical. My goal is to continue growing within the next year and just have fun with all the new things coming for our organization!
How have your experiences in Theta changed you?
I feel like Theta has brought me so many opportunities and set me up for success because of the people around me. My group of friends are some of the most genuine and supportive girls I’ve met at school. I’m so lucky to have found such amazing friends who truly care and lift each other up.

What does Theta mean to you?
It’s a place where I’ve found some of my closest friends and surrounded myself with people who are incredibly driven and ambitious!
Do you have any advice for underclassmen?
My advice for underclassmen would be to stay present in the moment. Don’t get too wrapped up in your future - focus on the now!
Do you have a specific favorite Theta memory?
My favorite Theta memories are my Big/Little dates. I remember my big Anne Marie and I’s date as one of the first moments I initially clicked with someone in the house. And my date with Julia Holland - I knew right away that she would be my little. I felt that spark with both of them and I’m so thankful Theta brought me them.
